History

The largest part of the collection were acquired by the Safavid dynasty ( 1501-1722 ). 1719 Isfahan, the former capital of Persia, was sacked by Afghan troops, took away large parts of the collection. Nadir Shah undertook in 1739 a campaign against Afghanistan and northern India and plundered in turn cities like Kandahar, Kabul and Delhi. Thus came the Iranian crown jewels and other valuable diamonds and jewels from northern India to Persia, including the diamond Koh -i-Noor, and Darya Shah Diamond -ye Noor and the Peacock Throne and the Samarian Spinel.

The crown jewels were last used by the Pahlavi dynasty. With the fall of 1979, the crown jewels were verborgen.Erst for many years before the public in the central bank in the 1990s, they were open to the public again.
