Irina-Camelia Begu

Irina -Camelia Begu ( born August 26, 1990 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian tennis player. In the German Bundesliga, she plays for the TC Blau-Weiss Bocholt, with which it was in 2012 and 2013 German team champion.

Biography

Begus mother STELUTA, working for the Romanian government, her father Paul is an electrician. She has an older brother named Andrei.

Your working as a tennis coach aunt Aura Wagner brought her at the age of three years at the tennis. By the year 2011, she was cared for by Daniel Dolbea, then by Marius Comănescu. She is currently without a coach.

Career

2007 succeeded Begu the first success on the ITF level, as she defeated her compatriot Cristina Mitu at a smaller tournament in Braşov.

The first big success she was able to start the 2011 season, when they won the tournament of Cali, where she then number 105 in the world, Laura Pous Tió, defeated in straight sets in the final. Two rounds before she was against the Austrian Patricia Mayr -Achleitner managed the first victory against a top 100 player.

In April of the same year they reached after three wins in qualifying the main draw of the WTA tournament in Marbella. In her first WTA final of her career, she had the top-seeded Azarenka Wiktoryja 3:6, defeated 2:6. Thus she succeeded the first time into the top 100 of the world tennis rankings.

At the beginning of 2012 Begu was with her partner Monica Niculescu celebrate her first WTA doubles title. In September, her then succeeded with a tournament victory in Tashkent on the WTA Tour, the first success in the singles.
