Irina Vorobieva

Irina Nikolaevna Worobjowa (Russian Ирина Николаевна Воробьёва; * June 30, 1958 in Leningrad) is a former Russian figure skater, which was launched in pair skating for the Soviet Union.

Her first figure skating partner was Alexander Vlasov. His first international appearance was the couple who was coached by Tamara Moskvina, at the World Cup in 1974, which ended it in sixth place. 1976 were Worobjowa and Vlasov in the absence of Irina Rodnina and Alexander Zaitsev Soviet masters. This year, she won her first international medals. Both at the European Championships in Geneva as well at the World Championships in Gothenburg she won bronze behind Rodnina and Zaitsev and Romy Kermer and Rolf Oesterreich from the GDR. The Olympic Games in Innsbruck, they finished in fourth place due to some error. In 1977 she was in Helsinki Vice - European Champion and Vice World Champion in Tokyo behind their outstanding compatriots.

From 1979 Worobjowa came with her husband Igor Lissowski in pair skating. They were in Zagreb at first European runner-up behind their compatriots Marina Cherkasova and Sergei Schachrai. At the World Championships she missed a medal in fourth extremely tight against Sabine Bäß and Tassilo Thierenbach from the GDR. In 1980 the couple participate in any international tournament. On their return Worobjowa and Lissowski in 1981 in Innsbruck European Champion and World Champion in Hartford. 1982 was the last year in the career of the couple. It was enough at the European Championships in Lyon even to a bronze medal at the World Championships she finished fifth.

Worobjowa works as a trainer in Colorado Springs.
