Iron Fire

Iron Fire is a True-Metal/Power-Metal-Band from Copenhagen, which was founded in 1997 by Martin Steene and Kristian H. Martinsen. Lyrically, the band deals with topics such as Fantasy, mystical word or Celtic mythology. However, significant influences of True Metal can be seen, so many songs also deal with issues such as fighting, honor, fictional kingdoms or glorious battles.

History

Their beginnings saw Iron Fire at school Steene. During this time the band went through some changes as well as strong in genres as well as in band names. Initially intended as a heavy metal / hard rock cover band called " Misery", the band developed stylistically in the direction of the Doom Metal and changed its name to "Decades of Darkness ". After that, the band was in their music aggressive turn and evolved towards a mix of Melodic Death Metal and Black Metal. However, Martin Steene wanted to go back to the early days, after which the band decided to acquire power and speed metal and to rename itself " Iron Fire ".

Since Steene thought it was not enough only to play a cover, he began to write their own material for the project band. The breakthrough for Iron Fire finally began in 1998, when the band recorded a demo CD, which shortly afterwards heard nothing but positive reviews from Scandinavia and, ultimately, from all over Europe. They then signed a contract with the German label Noise Records. After collaboration with producer Tommy Hansen appeared the album Thunder Storm in 2000.

A short time later the band parted from her guitarist Kristian Iversen and her drummer Gunnar Olsen. The latter was by Morten Plenge, drummer of the band Coitus Interruptus and push, to be replaced. With him they recorded the album On the Edge, published in March 2001, which was torn apart by the media. Relatively poor ratings and reviews were for Kristian Martinsen (guitar) and Jacob Lykkebo ( bass) reasons for leaving the band. In addition, Morten Plenge difference caused by problems with the wrists straight from again. Steene found in Martin Slott (guitar) and Steve Mason (drums) new band members, had the bass but accept himself as he sang because it no substitute could be found. The next demo CD was not convincing, which ultimately had the effect that the contract with Iron Fire was terminated when Label. Then the guitarist Søren Jensen and bassist José Cruz joined the band. The vocals on the demo was re-recorded and added some new songs. Drums, bass and guitars were added to Søren Jensen's studio " Niflheim ", the vocals, keyboard and lead guitar in Martin Steene's Studio " Hellfire". One week after completion of the demo CD Søren Jensen left the band, as they have evolved in the wrong direction. Replacement was found, however, quickly Jeff Lukka. After several concerts to Steene and Andersen parted because of disagreement from the rest of the band. The precipitated musicians formed the band Blinded by Fear, Steene and Andersen spent the next six months writing and looking for new musicians - they Sunddal in Martin (drums ) and Martin Slott (guitar) also found.

After a few more outlets eventually you could sign a contract with Napalm Records and release the album Revenge on the market in the year. In 2007 she released her fourth studio album Blade of Triumph - both albums have been positive thought and better rated. In August 2007, Jens B. left for family reasons the band, he was replaced by Fritz Wagner. In January 2008, Johan Jacob Høvring Olsen left the band because he felt attracted now more to jazz, replacement was found on 12 January 2009, three days after the European release of the album To the Grave.

In October 2010, the album was released Metalmorphosized, and in January 2012 was followed by the now seventh studio album, Voyage of the Damned.
