The Iron Island (Persian جزیره آهنی, Dschasireh Ahani ) is an Iranian film made in 2005. Mohammad Rasoulof directed and wrote the screenplay for this ironic and grotesque drama. The main roles were played by Ali Nasirian and Hossein Farsi Sadeh.

Action

In the Persian Gulf bobs a leak somewhere stricken cargo ship off the coast of the Iranian mainland. While the captain tried to persuade the ship owner to give up the old tanker, the poorest of the poor have already taken the boat. The "Iron Island" is a microcosm: teachers teach, funerals and weddings take place, children are born. Front of an old television, the ship squatters pushing on the top deck and watch " Titanic."
