Iron Pagoda

The so-called Iron Pagoda of Kaifeng ( Kaifeng Iron Pagoda Tieta开封 铁塔in Kaifeng ) or Iron Pagoda of Youguo Temple of Kaifeng (Chinese开封 佑 国寺 铁塔, Pinyin Kaifeng Youguo si Tieta, English Youguo Temple Iron Pagoda in Kaifeng ), Pagoda of Youguo Temple ( Youguo si ta佑 国 寺塔Youguo Temple Pagoda ) or glazed brick pagoda of Kaibao Temple ( Kaibao si ta liuli开 宝 寺 琉璃 塔Kaibao Glazed Tiles Pagoda ) and others is a brick pagoda of iron colored glazed bricks in the northeast corner of Kaifeng City of Henan Province. It was built in the 1st year of Huangyou time ( 1049 ) of the Northern Song Dynasty ( 1049 ).

Because it was originally on the site of Kaibao Temple ( Kaibao si开 宝 寺) built, it was the Kaibao Pagoda Temple ( Kaibao si ta开 宝 寺塔Kaibao Temple Pagoda ), called in the time of the Ming Dynasty, she received its present name. It is octagonal and has thirteen floors, its height is 55.08 m. The roof can climb up.

The Pagoda of Youguo Temple ( Youguo si ta佑 国 寺塔) is on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 1-69 ) since 1961.
