The Irpin (Ukrainian Ірпінь; Russian Ирпень / Irpen ) is a right tributary of the Dnieper River in the Ukraine.

Geography

The Irpin arises from the northwestern foothills of the Dnieper ridge. He initially flows in an easterly direction and passes through the place Kornyn. He turns later to the northeast and takes the unawa of right. He sets his course about 20 km west of Kiev has been continued in a northerly direction. It flows through the city of the same name Irpin and finally reaches the Kiev reservoir. The Irpin has a length of 162 km. Its catchment area covers 3340 km ².

History

Riverside 1321 was the momentous Battle of the Irpen place in the Lithuanian army was victorious over the combined forces of the southern Russian principalities.
