Irschenberg

Deer Mountain is a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Miesbach and covers 144 districts, 130 of wastes and hamlets. She was awarded the 2005 Quality Award of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. The terrain elevation in the municipality is also called deer mountain, and, derived from the increase in A 8 with up to 7% slope and gradient.

Geography

Deer Mountain is located on a ridge (730 m) at the edge of the Alps and overlooking the valley of Mangfall. The Federal Highway 8 passes through the municipality. After Bad Aibling is 10 km away, to Rosenheim 20 km, 95 km to Salzburg, Kufstein 43 km, according to Mies Bach 8 km in the city of Munich 46 km.

In the north of Deer Mountain is adjacent to the church and to the Weyarn belonging to this community Seehamer lake.

Geology

The Deer Mountain is the result of debris flows of the upper Freshwater, before about 10 - came from the south - 15 million years ago - when the Alps rose up. Today This coarse alluvial fan form characteristic mountains before the outputs of the former Tertiary Alpine rivers ( Table Mountain, High Peißenberg, Taubenberg etc.). History

The place name, formerly " Ursenperig " is probably derived from the Latin ursus (bear).

In the year 657, the Irish bishop Marinus and his deacon Anian settled in Wilparting and Alb in the current municipal area. According to tradition, the two missionaries who were martyred 697 what the Sanctuary Wilparting reminded that you can see from the highway and is a popular photo opportunity. In 1315 " Ursenperig " was first mentioned as a parish.

1934 began construction of the Munich-Salzburg motorway. 1950/51 was the construction of the motorway rest-house deer mountain with a motel. As part of the Bavarian municipal reform communities Reichersdorf were incorporated on July 1, 1972, and parts of the former municipalities Nicklasreuth and Parsberg on 1 May 1978.
