Iruma, Saitama

Iruma (Japanese入 间 市, - shi) is a Japanese city in Saitama Prefecture about 40 km away from Tokyo.

History

Iruma got on 1 November 1966, the city law.

Geography

Iruma is located west of Tokorozawa, east of Hanno and southwest of Sayama.

Twinning

Iruma is since 14 October 1987 twin city of Upper Bavaria Wolfratshausen ( district of Bad Tölz- Wolfratshausen ). The 1000th anniversary of Wolfratshausen a delegation from Iruma 2003 was invited to inaugurate the Yuko Japanese Garden Nihon Teien in Wolfratshausen at the Loisachbrücke. This was an official gift from Iruma to its sister city Wolfratshausen.
