Isaac Ikhouria

Isaac Ikhouria ( born October 9, 1947) is a retired Nigerian boxer. Ikouria was bronze medalist of the 1972 Olympic Games and the Commonwealth Games in 1974 and winner of the Pan-African Games in 1973.

Career

, 1970 Ikhouria at the Commonwealth Games, but different in the middleweight ( - 75kg) starting already in the first fight against Robert Murphy, Australia.

At the Olympic Games in 1972 Ikouria reached in the light heavyweight ( 81kg - ), after beating Anton Schär, Switzerland (3:2), Valdemar Oliveira Paulino, Brazil (5-0 ), and Nikolay Anfimov, Soviet Union ( 3-2 ), the semi-final, which he Gilberto Carrillo, Cuba (5-0 ), lost and thus won the Olympic bronze medal.

1973 won Ikouria the Pan-African Games and the Commonwealth Games in the year, the bronze medal. In 1974 he also won the African Championships.

Later was Ikouria coach of the Nigerian national team.
