Isaac Rülf

Isaac Rülf ( born February 10, 1831 in Rauischholzhausen, Hesse, † September 18, 1902 in Bonn ) was a German rabbi, Jewish and Zionist politicians.

Life

Rülf was a rabbi since 1857, as a longtime rabbi in Memel active since 1865., Where he was also editor of the daily political newspaper Memeler steamboat. He also emerged as a philosophical writer, particularly through the five -volume work science of ideas of world - the Thought World Science - Science of the power unit - the science of mental unit - the science of God's unity.

Isaac Rülf was an early pioneer of Hibbat Zion. His particular interest was the Russian Jews and Jewish emigrants, for which he organized as a Jewish politician charities. This earned him the nickname " Dr. Hülf " one. He supported Theodor Herzl from the beginning, especially against the anti-Zionist "Protest Rabbis ".
