Isabella, Three Sailing Ships and a Con Man

The satire Isabella, three Kavarellen and a charlatan ( Isabella, tre caravelle e un cacciaballe ) by Dario Fo, which belongs to the literary genre of the tragicomedy plays in Spain and was written in 1963.

The comedy tells the story of an actor who waits for his pardon before a gallows. Condition for the pardon is that he, again lists the piece, for which he was convicted. So then the gallows is to the playing surface.

The spectacle which he performs, tells the story of Christopher Columbus, who would like to win in the court of Queen Isabella of Castile and King Ferdinand of money for his exploration of India. Furthermore, the piece the voyages of Columbus and the supposed discovery of America told (which was, according to the piece in reality by one of the sailors of Columbus ). Columbus is depicted in this piece as a wily egoist who is intent only on his own advantage.
