Isidiella

Isidiella is a genus of butterflies of the family splendor butterfly ( Cosmopterigidae ).

Features

The representatives of the genus are small moths with lanceolate forewings and a tapering apex. The forewings have a shiny gold base color and a drawing pattern of large white and pale gold Costalflecken shiny, raised spots. The hind wings are half as wide as the front wings and run very pointed to.

In the males, the Tegumen at the base is wide, distally it is roundish. The right brachium is strong and about a quarter longer than the left. The Apex is not dilated. The Valven are short and spatulate. The right Valvella is very large and extends to behind the aedeagus. It is dorso- ventrally flattened and bent downward. The left Valvella is greatly reduced or absent. The aedeagus is straight, the basal half is bulbous.

In females, the Apophyses are posterior quarter longer than the anterior Apophyses. The sterigma is sickle-shaped. The ductus bursae is about as long as the corpus bursae or shorter. The corpus bursae is oval -shaped and membranous sack up. There is a rear elongated extension which ends in the ductus seminalis. It formed two cup-shaped signals.

Biology

The caterpillars nate in leaves or live in cocoons on the terminal leaves of daisy family (Asteraceae).
