Isidoro Díaz

Isidoro Díaz Mejía ( born March 14, 1940 in Acatlán de Juárez, Jalisco ) is a retired Mexican footballer who played 1955-1968 for Chivas Guadalajara and part of the legendary team was the seven Mexican in the nine years 1957-1965 Master and was given the nickname " Campeonísimo ". In the early years he played as a right winger and later as a right midfielder. He was also known by his nickname " El Chololo " ( the mestizo ).

Career

Although he had acted at the beginning of his career as a right winger and made into this role quite a stir and unrest in the penalty box, his club coach De la Torre ordered him back to right midfield. He has held this position since the early 1960s and kept them in until the end of his career. In both positions he was one of the best players of his time in Mexico. A fact that is supported by his 63 international appearances in the decade between 1960 and 1970. No other player from the era of the " Campeonísimo " was so often for the Mexican national team on the field. He scored a total of 13 goals; alone three in a World Cup qualifier against Jamaica ( 8-0 ) on 7 May 1965.

Diaz was nominated for three world championships in the National Squad. , 1962, 1966 and 1970 while he was a regular in the first two cases, who was involved in all encounters, he came in 1970 at the World Cup in their own country no longer used.
