Isidoro Noblía is located in the department of Cerro Largo city in eastern Uruguay.

Geography

It is located in the north of the department in 15 kilometers distance from the border to neighboring Brazil and Uruguay about 45 kilometers from the southern Departamento Capital Melo. A few kilometers north, connected to the Ruta 8, the border town Aceguá is located. There is an official border crossing into neighboring Brazil.

History

Isidoro Noblía was founded in October 1942. By the law Ley 13.167 of 15 October 1963 the place was given the status of a pueblo ( town ) awarded, since the measures taken in the Ley 16,312 settlement of 20 October 1992 is Isidoro Noblía city (Villa ).

Education

Isidoro Noblía has the Liceo Rural de Isidoro Noblía founded in 1987 on a secondary school ( Liceo ). 2008 240 students were taught at school.

Culture

Isidoro Noblía will host the Festival del Arroz ( in German: Rice Festival), which is already held in its sixth edition since 2003. Organised by the rice producers and the local Club de Leones socio - cultural event is thematically dedicated to the cultivated rice in the region. In addition to exhibitions, parades and competitions to means of production, Technical and cuisine, each is also the choice of the Reina del Arroz, the rice queen instead.

Population

Isidoro Noblía had female in the census in the year 2011 2.331 inhabitants, of which 1,153 male and 1,178.
