Ä°skender kebap

Called Iskender Kebap, also Bursa Kebap or Yoğurtlu kebab, is a meat dish of Turkish cuisine and is a variant of the doner kebab dar. When Iskender Kebap is barbecued on the rotisserie and thinly cut lamb with pita bread, yogurt, grilled peppers, tomatoes and melted butter served.

The court is named after its inventor, Iskender Efendi, who lived in Bursa in the late 19th century. Today his descendants operated by a resident of Bursa chain of restaurants in which besides compulsory Turkish appetizers ( meze ) only the original Kebapçı Iskender is offered, which has now been registered as a trademark.

Iskender Kebap is now the standard offered by most Turkish restaurants. It is not served as a snack, but as a dish. Usual side dishes are bulgur and salad. Traditional grape juice ( SIRA ) or ayran is drunk to.
