Islamic Azad University

The Islamic Azad University (Persian دانشگاه آزاد اسلامی / Daneshgah -e -e Eslami Āzād / daneshgahe azade eslami / "Islamic Free University ."; Engl Islamic Azad University) is the largest private university with multiple locations and a network of universities in Iran and the Middle East. It is the university with the most students in Iran and one of the largest universities in the world. Its central office is located in Tehran. It was founded in 1982 by Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. Its president is since January 17, 2012 Farhad Daneshjoo. The university has approximately 1.7 million students. The University consists of more than 400 departments and branches at home and abroad (United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Tanzania, Lebanon and Armenia, the establishment of other universities and branches in Malaysia, Canada, Afghanistan and Tajikistan is set in motion ), the more than 30,000 people employ.
