Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Arabic المنظمة الإسلامية للتربية والعلوم والثقافة; Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, ISESCO ) was founded in May 1979 by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC). Its headquarters is in Rabat in Morocco. Your current Director General Abdulaziz Othman al - Twaijri is from Saudi Arabia.

One of the objectives of ISESCO to strengthen the cooperation between the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC) in the fields of education, science and culture and to promote one.

ISESCO has for its three-year plan 2010-2012 with a budget of 41 million U.S. dollars, as before, from 2007 to 2009.

An organization within the framework of the ISESCO, the Association of Universities of the Islamic World ( Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, FUIW ).

In addition to numerous other activities assigned by the organization of the title of "Capital of Islamic Culture ", first in 2005 for Mecca, since for capitals of Islamic culture in the Arab, African and Asian region.
