Islamic Jihad Union
Behind the name Islamic Jihad Union (Islamic Jihad Union, IJU, and the Islamic Jihad Group, IJG ), a militant separatist group from Uzbekistan suspects whose scope is controversial.
In Germany, the IJU is assessed differently by the security authorities. Benno topper from the Constitutional Protection Baden- Württemberg doubted the existence of the IJU. On the other hand, the IJU be a faction of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU ), connected to the terrorist network al - Qaeda.
The U.S. State Department began in 2007, the IJU to its list of foreign terrorist groups.
According to the former British Ambassador to Uzbekistan Craig Murray, the group does not exist either, or if they were controlled by the Uzbek secret group of "useful idiots," said Murray is not without controversy as the source. After the British government had withdrawn it because of non-governmental compliant trading from his post as ambassador, Murray wrote a book entitled Murder in Samarkand: A British Ambassador's Controversial Defiance of Tyranny in the War on Terror.
Planned terrorist attacks in Germany
According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the IJU has published in a website not designated for planned attacks in Germany who wanted to achieve a closure of the air base in Termez in Uzbekistan. However, there is too little IJU material to confirm the authenticity of the letter claiming unique.
Three suspected terrorists who were arrested on 4 September 2007 in Oberschledorn ( " Sauerland group " ) should perform these attacks with. They were supposedly in 2006 in a terrorist camp in Pakistan and visitors to the Islamic Information Center ( IIZ ) in Ulm. Two of the three alleged terrorists are German converts to Islam, so it is not to " imported ", but " home-grown" terrorism in this case.
New findings: Uzbek intelligence as the founder

In a media criticism Walter van Rossum former ambassador Craig Murray cited as:
"I personally believe that the Islamic Jihad Union was created most likely from the Uzbek intelligence services. Either the fact that they have staged attacks like in Tashkent itself or by agents provocateurs naive people have enticed to commit terrorist attacks. "
The Uzbek journalist Galima Bukharbaeva confirmed the establishment of the Islamic Jihad Union by the Uzbek intelligence:
" The IJU is clearly an invention of the Uzbek security. [ ... ] I was in the attacks [ in Tashkent 2004] site and have talked to the police investigators. They laughed about the IJU, everyone knew then that it was an invention. [ ... ] I was in court, no one has stated something, even the lawyers of the accused were paid by the government and did not speak with reporters. The whole thing is a big fake. Only when appeared the Sauerland - terrorists in Germany, the IJU was taken suddenly. [ ... ] Germany is Karimov's strategy on glue. And it is a great shame that a country like Germany refers to statements of this criminal intelligence. "
