ISO 233

ISO 233 ( Transliteration of Arabic characters into Latin characters) is an international standard for the scientific transliteration of Arabic into Latin script. The second part of the standard ( ISO 233-2:1993 ) describes a simplified form for the transliteration of the Arabic language; the third part (ISO 233-3:1999 ) such for the Persian language.
