ISO 3166-2:CH

The list of ISO -3166 -2 codes for Switzerland contains the codes for the 26 Swiss cantons.

The codes are composed of two parts which are separated by a hyphen. The first part is the country code according to ISO 3166-1 ( for Switzerland CH ), the second the code for the Canton again. The current country code is the fifth newsletter dated 5 September 2003 ( PDF) last updated.

These have been already set on 26 August 1986 by the Swiss Association for Standardization and declared by the ISO 1998 international valid. Changes, there has been only one; it was announced in the fifth Newsletter: The ISO had the cantons of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Appenzell Innerrhoden misspelled.
