ISO metric screw thread
The metric ISO thread is a globally standardized thread with metric dimensions and 60 ° flank angle. It replaces the older little different metric thread, especially but most threads with inch dimensions ( inch of the few threads used is the most famous, the Whitworth thread with 55 ° edge angle).
Standardization
The threads were in the ISO 1502 1996 "ISO general-purpose metric screw threads - Gauges and gauging " (DIN: Metric ISO thread of general application - Gauges and gauging ) and has been detailed in the DIN standards DIN 13 and DIN 14.
- DIN 13-1 regular thread 1-68 mm threaded outer diameter
- DIN 13 - 2 et seq clarifies the fine thread metric ISO threads
- DIN 13 - 14ff clarify basic dimensions, tolerances, limit dimensions, gauges, etc. for various thread ( such as multi-start thread or bolts ) and nuts
- DIN 14 1-4 threads below 1 mm nominal diameter
See list of standards DIN to an overview of the rows 13 and 14
Coarse thread of general application (DIN 13-1)
Notes:
- To the sizes in the table header, see thread - parameter
- In the table, the preferable values of row 1 are given, values such as M 7 or M 9 can be found in the series 2 and series 3
- Dimensions (Dimensions ) in mm
- Have stud bolts ( screws) with an Allen wrench size from M3 a equal to half the nominal diameter of the thread, for smaller nominal diameter shall M 1.6: 0.7 mm; M 2: 0.9 mm; M 2.5: 1.3 mm.
