The ISO 28000 Security management systems for the supply chain describes a complete system for supply chain security.

The requirements of ISO 28000 include review of all important aspects in order to increase security throughout the supply chain. The areas affected are financing, production, information management, infrastructure for packaging, storage and transport of goods between the various means of transport and delivery locations. It will include compliance with legal requirements and the handling of identified security risks based on the ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 verified and coincides in part with the proposals of the Transported Asset Protection Association ( TAPA ).

With ISO 28000 a company should be given the opportunity to systematically track down the risks of the supply chain and to take measures against it. Certification is carried out by accredited certification bodies such as TÜV or DQS.
