Isra al-Modallal

Isra al - Mudallal English Modallal (* 1989 or 1990 in Egypt ) is a Palestinian journalist. She was appointed in November 2013 as the first female Speaker of Hamas government in the Gaza Strip.

Life

Isra al - Mudallal was born as the daughter of Palestinian refugees in Egypt. She grew up in Gaza and moved to the UK, where her father received his doctorate with her parents at the beginning of the 21st century. She visited in Bradford for four years, Grange Technology College and therefore speaks fluent English with a Yorkshire accent. 2004, the family returned to Gaza. Her father has since worked as a university teacher of political science and history at the Islamic University of Gaza.
