Issam Fares
Issam Fares ( * 1937 in Bayno, Akkar ) is a Lebanese politician and businessman.
Life
Fares comes from an Orthodox Christian family. He attended the Tripoli College. As an entrepreneur, he worked for several decades in the Middle East, especially the Persian Gulf, active. Fares became a deputy in the National Assembly of Lebanon. He was from 2000 to 2005 Deputy Prime Minister of Lebanon in the government of Rafiq al - Hariri. The Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut and the Fares Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies at Tufts University is named after him.
