Issei Nishikawa

Issei Nishikawa (Japanese西川 一 诚, Issei Nishikawa, actually Nishikawa Kazumi, born January 2, 1945 in Asahi (now Echizen ), Fukui Prefecture) is a Japanese politician and since 2003 the governor of Fukui.

Nishikawa graduated in 1968 graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Kyoto and was then an official in the Ministry of self-government, where he rose in the late 1980s in line positions. Most recently, he was from 1992 Head of the Planning Department ( kikaku - ka), from 1994 Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Minister of State land. In 1995 he became vice governor of Fukui Prefecture under Yukio Kurita.
