Istituto Giannina Gaslini

The Istituto Giannina Gaslini, simply Ospedale Gaslini, is a pediatric hospital and research facility in the Italian port city of Genoa. The facilities are not far from the sea in the Quarto district. The public hospital is funded by an endowment of the founder, Gerolamo Gaslini ( 1877-1964 ).

After six years of work, the hospital was opened on 15 May 1938. It now consists of over 30 departments, many of which carries out research in the field of pediatrics. It belongs to the Ospedale San Martino and the duck Ospedaliero ospedali Galliera to the three major hospital complexes of the city of Genoa. As treatment and research focus Gaslini Hospital in pediatrics has also in the Mediterranean and at the European level importance.
