István Bagyula

István Bagyula [ iʃtva ː n bɒɟulɒ ] ( born January 2, 1969 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian former pole vaulter. At a height of 1.85 m his competition weight was 76 kg.

István Bagyula presented in 1988 with a 5.65 m junior world record. He was 1988 World Junior Champion and the 1988 Olympic Games, he finished with 5.60 m in seventh place.

In July 1991 he crossed in Linz 5.92 m and placed so that its seventh Hungarian national record on. This performance would be his best. At the World Championships 1991 he jumped 5,90 m and won the silver behind the Ukrainian Serhiy Bubka, who jumped 5.95m in the last attempt.

1992 Bagyula was 5.80 m at the European Indoor Championships Second behind the antretenden for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Russian Pyotr Botschkarjow. At the Olympic Games in 1992 Bagyula jumped 5.55 meters in the qualifying and qualified for the final. There he finished ninth with 5.30m.
