Scirè (S 527) is a standing in the service of the Italian Navy Submarine Class 212 A.

History

Scirè is the second Italian boat of the class after the first boat Todaro (S 526) in Italy, " Todaro " class is called. Scirè was built by Fincantieri in Muggiano at La Spezia and on 18 December 2004 sunk after the 1942 submarine R.Smg. Scirè named. In February 2007, the transfer to the Italian Navy and then an intense training and exercise program was carried out. On 18 February 2008, the boat was in the harbor of Livorno its Seekriegsflagge, so the boat was incorporated into the active fleet. On 20 July 2009 Scirè ran out to several months of training cruise in the Atlantic. Stations included the Spanish naval base of Rota and the submarine base Groton, Connecticut. On the U.S. East Coast Scirè took part in the exercise CONUS 2009. The return trip to Taranto took place in November and December 2009 on Ponta Delgada in the Azores and Catagena in Spain.

Home port of Scirè and all other Italian submarines is Taranto, where there is also the " command submarine forces " ( COMFORSUB ).
