IV is the title of the fourth studio album released in 2006, the American hard rock band Winger.
Background
Winger had in 1993 after the commercial flop of the album Pull ( album ) | pull separately. Guitarist Reb Beach released a solo album, Kip Winger also launched a solo career. Published in 2001, Atlantic Records, a best-of CD entitled The Very Best of Winger, 2002, the group came together again for a comeback.
In May 2006, Winger signed by the Italian label Frontiers Records a new record deal, then the group took on a new studio album. Since it was the fourth album of the band, it was simply titled IV. Kip Winger gave in an interview to do so, he had woke up one morning and had the next Winger album in the head and immediately knew what he wanted to do with it. The album cover was drawn by Ethan Van Sciver, who worked as a draftsman for series such as Green Lantern, Superman and Batman at DC Comics.
In Japan, the album was released with an acoustic version of the song Blue Suede Shoes as a bonus track.
