Iva Hercíková

Iva Hercíková ( born November 2, 1935 in Pardubice, † January 27, 2007 in Prague) was a Czech writer and dramaturge.

Life

Iva Hercíková, born Vodňanská, visited in Liberec to 1954, the gymnasium and studied until 1958 dramaturgy and theater at the Prague DAMU.

In 1986, she emigrated with her second husband, first to Germany and later in the United States. After the Velvet Revolution In 1989, she spent several months living in Prague, but definitely returned it is only 2000. In January 2007, she committed suicide.

Works

Hercíková is the author of several novels, short stories and several screenplays. Already her first book Pět Holek na krku ( five women on the neck ), which was also made ​​into a film, became a bestseller.
