Ivaldo Bertazzo

Ivaldo Bertazzo ( born 1939 in São Paulo, Brazil) is a Brazilian choreographer, dancer and teacher, whose choreography give young people from the favelas a perspective. This initiative is unique in the world in this form and represents a new form of ethical education of young people harder

Life

Ivaldo Bertazzo was born the son of an Italian and a Lebanese woman and dancing professionally since the age of 16. As a dancer he has performed in many countries, including Turkey, Greece, Spain, India, Argentina, Chile and Bolivia.

In 1975, he established the Escola de Movimento ( School of Movement ), which established the beginning of a series of educational projects for young people, which he introduced abroad. There are projects with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds or mostly from the favelas, which pass through dance, movement and cultural education, but also as mentors in their neighborhoods young people a perspective. The school is located in Sao Paulo.
