Iván Alonso

Iván Daniel Alonso Vallejo, short Iván Alonso ( born April 10, 1979 in Montevideo) is an Uruguayan football player. He is the brother of football player Matías Damián Alonso and cousin of former inter alia for Pumas playing Kickers Diego Alonso.

Association

Beginnings in Uruguay

Iván Alonso, who played until the age of 15 years for Defensor, began his career as a professional footballer with Uruguayan River Plate from his home. There, he played from 1998 to 2000. Subsequently, the Uruguayan moved to Spain.

Time in Spain

With Deportivo Alavés he reached the 2001 UEFA Cup final, where you had to admit defeat to the big favorites Liverpool after extra time. Alonso was in the finals at the first hit of his team at the 5:4 -ending encounter. In the 2002/03 season the relegation followed in the Segunda División. Yet another year remained Iván Alsono at the Basques - as you but on the final day of the 2003/ 04 just in long-distance duel with CD Numancia and FC Getafe defeated, he left the club and went to the first division relegated Real Murcia. In the season 2006/ 07 with him Murcia managed to return to the first division. For this purpose, he added as top scorer of his team with 14 goals. In February 2009 he moved to Espanyol. 2009/10 and 2010/11, won his team in the Copa Catalunya, respectively. Also the Trofeo Ciutat de Barcelona took his club in 2010 against Sampdoria, as well as the Trofeo Ramón de Carranza that year.

Change to Mexico

In summer 2011 it was announced that Spain Alonso turned his back and in the Mexican Primera División Deportivo Toluca hires. Sort, he completed until April 29, 2012 Apertura and Clausura 2011 and 2012 a total of 34 top-flight appearances and scored 25 goals, which he was top scorer in each case. Beginning of July 2012 announced Alsonso to the Mexican club to leave. In making this decision, he stated health reasons, because because of heart problems to remain active in 2,500 meters in altitude Toluca had not been recommended by doctors.

Return to Uruguay

Beginning in December 2012 was a return Alonso on the football field at Uruguayan club Nacional for discussion after conducted medical tests had yielded positive results. The since his retirement at the Mexican club with this guided discussion with regard to the termination of this contract ended on January 11, 2013, as Nacional reported in terms of the change implementation. By the end of the season 2012/13 he came in six games ( three goals) of the Copa Libertadores in 2013 and in nine games ( five goals ) of the Primera División used. In the current season 2013/14 he graduated to date (as of March 21, 2014), 19 top-flight appearances and scored 15 goals. Also in the Copa Libertadores in 2014 he ran five times (one goal ).

Alonso was used 20 times in the U- 17 and U-20 national team of Uruguay.

The Uruguayan was honored in his home country by the local government with the Order de Embajador Honorario del Turismo de Uruguay and thus as Honorary Ambassador of the Uruguayan tourism.
