Ivan Kopecký

Ivan Kopecký ( born January 29, 1946) is a former Czech football player and current football coach.

Playing career

Ivan Kopecký began playing football at Slavia Prague, the age of 17 he made ​​the jump to the first team. 1972 changed the midfielder at that second division VP Frýdek- Místek, with him came in 1976 when the promotion to the 1st League. However, the team was able to hold only one season in the top division. 1980 Kopecký finished his career.

In the first Czechoslovak league Kopecký completed 137 games in which the defensive player scored four goals.

Coaching career

Kopecky's coaching career began as an assistant at Bohemians Prague in the season 1983/84. From 1985 to 1988 trained Kopecký TJ Vitkovice, with whom he was 1985/86 surprisingly Czechoslovak champion. In the 1988/89 season, he sat on the bench of Slavia Prague. Then Kopecký coached for two years the Olympic team of Czechoslovakia.

In the 1992/93 season he coached Banik Ostrava, then to 1998, the Czech Under-21 team. In the second half of the season 1998/99 Kopecký returned for six games back in the Gambrinus League and was coach of FC Petra Drnovice.

Then Kopecký worked for the Czech association as a youth coach. From 2005 /06 he was responsible for the U16, from 2006 to 2007 for the same team that had now become the Under-17 team.
