Ivan Simpson

Ivan Freebody Simpson ( born February 4, 1875 in Glasgow, Scotland, † October 12, 1951 in New York City, United States) was a British actor.

Life and career

Born in Scotland came in 1905 on Broadway in New York, where in about 30 pieces he played supporting roles until 1950. His first film appearance in 1915 until 1948, he should rotate more than 100 other films. Especially in the 1930s, he was a busy side - and micro- actor who appeared in film classics. He played alongside Errol Flynn in Captain Blood adventure films, The Prince and the Pauper and Robin Hood, King of the Vagabonds. In addition, he played mainly in liters Artur films such as David Copperfield, Little Lord Fauntleroy and found years. Frequently Simpson embodied honorable figures such as Butler, priests, judges or doctors. He was also a close friend of the Oscar-winning actor George Arliss, with whom he played in a total of seven films.

Simpson died at the age of 76 and was buried in New York's Kensico Cemetery. His daughter was the actress Pamela Simpson ( 1905-2002 ).
