The Iveco Daily covers since 1978, now in its fifth generation, the range of the 3.5 - ton class to the 7- ton class from IVECO. The Daily was originally developed as a successor to the Fiat 616. The third generation was elected in 2000 to the Van of the Year.

Daily I (1978-1990)

The Daily I was built from 1978 to 1990. The model was originally developed from 1973 by Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Officine Meccaniche as Fiat S- series and was ultimately presented as Fiat Daily. By the uniform appearance of Iveco, the model was still offered by Iveco forming entities, except as Fiat Daily as OM Grinta in Italy and Sour Grinta in Switzerland, in France and Unic Daily Daily Magirus Deutz in Germany. Up until 1980, was the local brand emblem on the radiator grille and the signature IVECO right above the bumper. Between 1980 and 1983, then wandered around the Iveco emblem in the grille and the local brand names took the other place (see picture above). The Daily is a short nose with ladder frame, independently suspended front wheels and rear wheel drive. This design has since been maintained in all new models. The chassis and box cars were manufactured at OM in Brescia and Suzzara that Mehrfachkabiner and buses ran at Pomigliano Alfa Romeo in the production line. This model was offered from now on as Turbo Daily. 1986 replaced a SOFIM - swirl chamber diesel engine with 2499 cc, 55 kW (75 hp) the previous and the total weight increased to five tons. Starting in 1987, all-wheel drive was available on request and a longer wheelbase allowed more load volume in the panel van.

Daily II (1990-1999)

The Daily II started in 1990 with a revised cabin, improvements to the 8140 engine with 2.5 liter displacement and then request all-wheel drive. He was only available under the name of Iveco Daily and was built by OM in Brescia and Suzarra. Engine 8140

Transmission

Daily III (1999-2006)

In 1999, the newly constructed Daily III started. He was the first van of its class with common- rail injection. The loading volume was 7 to 17.2 m³ and there were 2000 configuration options. Motorization
