IVL C.24

The IVL C.24 was the prototype of the Finnish manufacturer Ilmailuvoimien Lentokonetehdas of a fighter aircraft.

History and construction

The IVL C.24 was the first aircraft that was industrially developed and built in Finland. The aircraft was designed by Kurt Berger as a high-wing monoplane with open cockpit and spur wheel chassis. The first flight took place on 16 April 1924. The engine proved to be too weak, the speed was too low and the poor flight characteristics, so that the machine was only a short time, tested by the Finnish Air Force.
