Iyeoka Okoawo

Iyeoka Ivie Okoawo ( born April 28, 1975 in Boston, Massachusetts ) is a Nigerian- American poet, musician and TEDGlobal Fellow. Their music includes soul, R & B, rock, hip hop and jazz elements.

Okoawos parents are from the Nigerian state of Edo. She was the third of four children to the world. Before Okoawo started her music career, she worked as a pharmacist. Her musical career began as lead singer of the musicians ' collective Iyeoka & The Rock by Funk Tribe.
