Iyo (Ehime)

Iyo (Japanese伊 予 市-shi) is a city in Ehime Prefecture on the north coast of the island of Shikoku in Japan.

Geography

Iyo is located southwest of Matsuyama and north of Uwajima.

History

Iyo was founded on 1 January 1955. The two communities Nakayama (中山 町-chō ) and Futami (双 海 町-chō ) of the district of Iyo were incorporated on 1 April 2005.
