Iziko South African Museum

The Iziko South African Museum is a museum of natural history ( zoology, paleontology ), Archaeology and Anthropology in Cape Town.

It was founded in 1825 and is since 1897 at its current location in the Company Gardens in Cape Town.

The collection includes the time (2012 ) about 1.5 million objects and more than 200 scientists working at the museum.

Among the exhibits are whale skeletons, therapsids from the Karoo, coelacanth, a quagga, sharks, iron meteorites, minerals and birds. It has a planetarium.
