Izod impact strength test

The impact strength describes the ability of a material, impact energy and impact energy absorbing too without breaking. The impact strength is calculated as the ratio of stroke work and specimen cross section (unit kJ / m²).

Through various types of Charpy impact test (Charpy, Izod ) impact strength can be determined. In contrast to the notched impact strength is not notched at the impact strength of the specimens.
