J'attendrai le suivant ... is a French short film by Philippe Orreindy from the year 2002.

Action

A woman enters the Métro. According to her, a man gets in, who introduces himself all of a sudden the passengers. His name was Antoine, was 29 years old, computer science and have read in a newspaper that there were 5 million single women in France. He is in search of a woman - the great love that he has so far, for example, the Internet could not find. Some people start to laugh and one passenger offers him that he could have his wife. The woman watches the man and finds him likeable. He ended his presentation with a request that women who feel addressed, should get off at the next station, where he will then meet with them. When the Métro stops, the woman decided. Happy smiling she walks past him and leaves the Métro. He looks after her irritated. As the door closes, he calls after her that everything was only been a sketch show. The Métro runs on and you can hear how Antoine thanked the " spectators " and asks for money for the performance. The woman remains shaken.

Production

J'attendrai le suivant ... was shot in Lyon and the Lyon Métro. The film was released on 29 September 2002 in France and ran into the sequence at numerous international festivals, including the São Paulo International Film Festival, the Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid and the World Film Festival in Montreal.

Awards

At the Montreal World Film Festival, the film won the first prize in the category Short Films. J'attendrai le suivant ... got on the Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid the Golden Spike for the Best Short Film. In addition, Philippe Orreindy won a FIPRESCI Prize.

J'attendrai le suivant ... 2003 was nominated for Best Short Film for an Oscar in the category. In 2004, the film received a César nomination for Best Short Film. In the same year he won a European Film Award for Best Short Film.
