J. H. Williams III

J. H. "Jim" Williams III (born 1965 ) is an American comic book artist.

Life and work

Williams, whose great-uncle was the famous country musician Hank Williams, began working in the late 1980s as a professional cartoonist. After some early odd jobs, such as in the Batman Annual 1989, Williams was awarded in 1994 with the signs contract for those of Milestone Media published, four-part miniseries Deathwish his first regular engagement.

In the late 1990s, Williams was then mainly worked for the major American publisher DC Comics. For DC Williams recorded from 1998 to 1999 which, written by Dan Curtis Johnson, Chase series, a mixture of mystery and crime comic that - written by John Francis Moore - Issue # 1,000,000 Series Chronos, as well as the graphic novel The Justice Riders ( by Chuck Dixon ) and Son of Superman ( by Howard Chaykin ). Together with Warren Ellis Williams created in the late 1990s, the series Desolation Jones.

In the years 1999 to 2005 Williams presented with the drawings for the idiosyncratic, written by Alan Moore, Promethea series presents its most well-known work. 2005/2006 he also illustrated several books from Grant Morrison's Seven Soldiers project.

Williams most recent work can be found in the series Batman, for which he has worked as a master draftsman since 2007. His partner is at it again Morrison.
