J. Hyam Rubinstein

Joachim Hyam Rubinstein, J. Hyam Rubinstein cited as ( born March 7, 1948 in Melbourne ) is an Australian mathematician.

From 1986 to 1988 and 1997 to 2002 he was the Council of the Australian Mathematical Society, he was its president from 1990 to 1992 and Vice President from 1988 to 1990 and 1999 to 2000. In 2005 he took over the chairmanship of the National Committee for Mathematics in Australia. Since 2003 he is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, the Hannan Medal he received in 2004. In 2008 he received the George Szekeres Medal and 1987, the Medal of the Australian Mathematical Society. In 1994 he was invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Zurich (An algorithm to Recognise the 3 -sphere ). He is a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society.
