J. J. Hickson

J. J. Hickson ( born September 4, 1988 in Atlanta, Georgia ) is an American professional basketball player. He is a power forward for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA.

College

Hickson played college basketball for the Wolf Pack at North Carolina State University. In his first game as a freshman, he scored 31 points. Later, he scored a career best performance with 33 points against Western Carolina. In his best season he reached 14.8 ppg and 8.5 rpg. He was selected to the All - Freshman team in the ACC.

NBA

Cleveland Cavaliers

On June 26, 2008 Hickson was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers to 19th place in the framework of the NBA draft. In his first season Hickson came exclusively from the bench into the game, scoring an average of 4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 11.4 minutes per game. July 1, 2011 Hickson was traded by the Cavaliers to the Sacramento Kings. In exchange, the Cavaliers Omri Casspi and a Pick received in the draft in 2012. In March 2012, the Kings Hickson dismissed from his contract. He then signed a contract with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Portland Trail Blazers

The Blazers Hickson played 19 games in the spring of 2012 and was able to contribute 15.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game on average. Due to this good performance Portland extended in the summer his contract for another year for four million dollars.

Denver nuggets

After the expiration of his contract with the Blazers from Portland Hickson received various offers from the entire league. He eventually joined the Denver Nuggets. There he was given a contract until 2016. On January 15, 2014, he scored against the Golden State Warriors a career high of 24 rebounds.
