Jacek Kowalczyk

Jacek Kowalczyk ( born August 12, 1981 in Katowice, Poland ) is a Polish footballer.

Club career

Jacek Kowalczyk learned to play football in the small provincial club Unia Głuchołazy. He was bound by GKS Katowice 1999. Here he made his debut in 2001 in the Polish Ekstraklasa. His good performances did those responsible for Wisła Kraków attention to him. So in 2004 he joined the Krakowians. Here he could not prevail during his two-year stay, and came to a total of just nine appearances in the Ekstraklasa. However, he was with Wisła Kraków two times Polish champion. After a brief stint at Polonia Warszawa games, he moved in 2006 to Odra Wodzisław Slaski. Here he was able to fight for a regular place and was set in the defensive line. So far, he completed 187 games and scored five goals in the Polish Ekstraklasa. Since mid-2010, Kowalczyk plays for the Polish second division club GKS Katowice.

National

Under coach Paweł Janas he graduated in 2003 three caps for the Polish national football team. It was three friendly matches against Macedonia (3:0 ), Lithuania ( 3-1 ) and the Faroe Islands ( 6-0 ).
