Jack Belton

John "Jack" Belton († February 23, 1963 ) was an Irish politician and sat from 1948 until his death in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament.

Belton was elected in 1948 for the first time for Fine Gael in the constituency of Dublin North - East in the Dáil Éireann. In the years 1951, 1954, 1957 and 1961, he was re-elected each. When he died in February 1963 during the 17th Dáil, his brother Paddy Belton was elected in the subsequent by-elections in the lower house.

Belton also belonged to the Dublin City Council and held on 30 September 1950 to June 1951, the Office of the Mayor of (Lord Mayor of Dublin).

Family

Jack Belton came from a very politically active family. His father Patrick Belton was a deputy in Dáil Éireann. But Jack Belton's brothers Paddy and Richard beat this career. Richards daughter Avril Doyle sat from 2004 to 2009 in the European Parliament.
