Jack Cork

Jack Frank Porteous Cork ( born June 25, 1989 in Carshalton, London) is an English football player who is under contract with FC Southampton.

Career

Association

Jack Cork began his career at the age of nine years in the youth academy of FC Chelsea. In 2006, he signed a professional contract, but was used only in the reserve team, where he promptly worked his way to the captain.

During the season 2006/ 07 he was awarded twice to the AFC Bournemouth. The first time from November to December in 2006 and then from January to March 2007. However, he was only four, or three bets. In the summer of 2007 he graduated from the pre-season training with the pros, as his teammate canceled from the reserve Lee Sawyer. So he denied on July 14 against Club América his first game for the pros, while preparing it was used mainly as a left defender.

The 2007/08 season on loan at Scunthorpe spent Cork United. There, completed 35 league games and despite relegation to the Football League One, he was voted " Player of the Year." On November 27, he scored in the 90th minute of the 2-1 victory against Derby County.

On 11 July 2011 Jack Cork moved to second division team FC Southampton. The 2011/12 season he finished without having missed a total of 46 league games one and was the only player from his team. With Southampton he managed to move up to the Football League Championship.

National

Cork began in 2005 for the English national youth teams, then for the U- 16th Also for the U -17, U -18, U -20, he was in use. In the U -19 he made his debut on May 2007 compared Czech Republic. In the U-19 Football Championship in 2008 in the Czech Republic he led the England team as captain, but could not qualify for the semifinals. Since 2008 he runs on for the U-21 national team. So far, he came into the youth national teams to a total of 36 international matches.

His father Alan Cork played among others for FC and Wimbledon FC Fulham and belonged from 2007 to 2010 to the coaching staff of Bolton Wanderers.
