Jackie Holmes

Jack " Jackie " Holmes ( born September 4, 1920 in Indianapolis, Indiana, † March 1, 1995 ) was an American race car driver.

Jackie Holmes started 1947-1953 in 12 races on the AAA National Series. 1947 in Springfield, he achieved his best result with a fourth place.

Three times he competed in the 500 miles of Indianapolis. In 1949, he fell with a Kurtis Kraft 6- wheeler after 65 laps with a damage on the drive out. In 1950 he had an accident with an Olson - Offenhauser after 123 rounds. He was regarded as 23. 1953, this time on a 4000 Kurtis Kraft - Offenhauser, he parted with his teammates Spider Webb and Johnny Thomson ( driver change at that time were allowed) in the 166th round with a leak at the oil pan.

As the race between 1950 and 1960 was one of the drivers' world championship, are for him two Grand Prix starts in the statistics.
