Jackie Thomas (singer)

Jackie Thomas ( born November 18, 1990 in Greymouth ) is a New Zealand pop singer. 2013, it became known as the winner of the first edition of the talent show The X Factor in New Zealand.

Biography

Before Jackie Thomas is applied for the talent show, she had sung in her hometown performances at her high school and in the Greymouth Operatic Society, including in the musical Grease. The beginning of 2013 she moved to Auckland to take up studies, and had then advertised in The X Factor. From the first audition she was elevated to the circle of favorites. She had chosen the song Skinny Love by Bon Iver. In boot camp but then she delivered a bad idea and was sorted out. Only after large protests and an Internet call, she got even more in the next round, after the mentor Daniel Bedingfield had set for them. Later in the show, she proved itself and had the support of the audience. She won six of nine rounds and eventually the final.

After defeating Jackie Thomas sang in the show the winning song It's Worth It, which then came to number one on the New Zealand charts and was certified platinum after three weeks. They also went into the recording studio and sang the songs from their show performances again for an album. The album with her name as the title appeared three weeks after the show and also reached number one on the charts and gold status.
